Hey everyone, Happy Sunday! The weeks go by so fast, I feel like it was just Sunday a couple days ago.
This week I am making some cookies to send to one of my most favorite people, Greg aka Nebeker.
We met at work and have been good friends for more than 20 years. He is one of the kindest, sweetest people I know. He is like a brother to me and I love him dearly. ♥️
We’ve shared a lot of great memories over the years. Parties and BBQ’s when we were both married, parties and BBQ’s when we were both single. We’ve had so much fun over the years! ?
Every year for his birthday, I’ve always made him a birthday treat. Late last year he took another job and moved to Texas. It’s a little past his birthday this year but I am keeping the tradition alive and sending him some delish Snickerdoodles to enjoy.

Here’s what you’ll need…
1/2 c or 1 stick of softened Butter
1/2 c Shortening ( I used Crisco)
1 1/2c White Sugar
2 tsp Vanilla
2 tsp Cream of Tarter
2 3/4 c Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 tsp Salt
2 tbsp of White Sugar and 2 tsp Cinnamon (mix in a small bowl for rolling)
Heat your oven to 400 and pull out your cookie sheets.
In your mixer cream the butter, shortening, sugar, and vanilla together for 2 minutes.
Add the eggs one at a time and mix in between each egg.
On low, stir in the cream of tarter, baking soda, salt, and flour just until mixed.
Shape dough into 2″ balls and roll in the sugar/cinnamon mix.
Place on approx 12 on your cookie sheet and bake for about 8 minutes.
Remove cookies from baking sheet right away and place in rack to cool.
Eat right away or store in an airtight container. (I like to keep a crust of bread in with my cookies to keep them fresher longer). Enjoy!
